Pose to Pose Animation

This week, in our animation skills lesson, we learnt about pose-to-pose animation while making a pendulum move using Acme punched paper and light tables. Pose-to-pose animation meant we had to draw in our key frames first, so each end of the pendulum swing and the middle shot- straight down, before drawing in all the inbetween frames. I quite like this way of working as it's useful when making everything flow nicely, and I like thinking how things are going to work out before doing them. I had a little trouble with the spacing as on the first go, I did not bunch the frames up enough at the top end of the swing, meaning it wouldn't gain momentum while swinging so I had to rub them all out and start again but it was worth it because I thing my final swing works well. It really helped to draw in the arks in light blue to help mark out where the next drawing would sit to be consistent.
