Other Fairy Tale Animations

Fairy tales are often the stories used in animations all over the world. Disney in particular is a frequent creator of fairy tale animated films. 
One thing I have come to realise is that, as fairy tales are usually aimed at children, the original stories have been watered down to make them 'family friendly'. The original stories all had dark and gruesome elements in them and children's animations these days find gory Originally, Grimms fairy tales were aimed at children with all of the gory details included. I would like to make my animation with some of the original gory details of the grimm fairy tales, and the intended audience would be older children/ teenagers.
